Paris, FR- The Pope was in Paris today to announce the grand opening of a new theme park and rollercoaster inside of the historic Notre Dame Cathedral.
“Due to the ever decreasing numbers in both visitors to the cathedral and membership in the church, we have taken bold steps to increase the numbers in both catagories,” pontificated Pope Francis “It seems that people today, especially the younger generations, are increasingly able to see through the arcane nonsense of religion. Our membership has been dealt a huge blow because of this. After much thought, prayer and planning, we have devised a ruse that we believe will draw young people back to the church.”
Pope Francis went on to say that he plans to outfit all Catholic curches and cathedrals around the world with similar theme parks. “This updating will come at a high price, but we see it as an investment in the future of our religion.”
When asked if he planned to ride the rollercoaster, Pope Francis answered with a grin, “Does the Pope wear little red shoes?”
